Project Respite Scholarship Program
A grant funded program for respite care for children and their families in Buncombe County.

Through the generous support of The United Way of Buncombe County and The Department of Health and Human Services, Respite Care Scholarships are available in Buncombe County. 

The Respite Scholarship Program provides scholarship funds for families of children with serious emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health issues (with or without developmental disabilities).  These funds are used to obtain quality respite services for their children.  Respite care provides temporary relief for parents, and has been shown to reinforce behavioral and developmental skills, reduce out-of-home placements, and decrease negative behaviors.
